Pomona : Tips on Fire Protection
Cal Poly Pomona is offering a free pamphlet, “Reducing the Risk with Landscaping,” for people in fire-prone areas.
Lawrence Herber, geological sciences professor, and Robert Perry, landscape architecture professor, provide tips on how to prevent mudslides and soil erosion. They also offer suggestions on what plants to use to stabilize burned areas.
The pamphlet is available by sending a business-sized, self-addressed, stamped envelope to Cal Poly Pomona, Office of News and Publications, 3801 W. Temple Ave., Pomona 91768.
