Actions by Katz Are Appreciated

Share

* Richard Katz has come through for us again.

The first time was in regard to the control of the Lopez Canyon Landfill. He removed the case from the city, where little was being done to give relief to the surrounding communities, and placed it before the Air Quality Management District board. Tough conditions placed on the landfill operations have made the landfill more tolerable.

Now he is taking a stand in regard to the proposed golf course in Big Tujunga Wash.

Although a great deal of concern is being expressed regarding the endangered species of flora and fauna, the subject of safety has hardly been discussed. Dwellings that are now five feet above the level of the wash will be from seven to 25 feet below it. The wash must be raised to provide a platform for the planned structures during flood periods. People in city government are voicing support for the project without consideration of all of the negative affects. Richard, we are truly grateful.
