PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Wright Returns to Practice Field

Share

Alexander Wright is back, Gerald Perry is on his way and Napoleon McCallum is still there.

Wright, a wide receiver, returned to full practice Wednesday after sitting out Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals because of an ankle sprain.

Asked how close he was to being 100%, Wright said: “92.”

Perry, an offensive left tackle, sat out Sunday’s game because of the death of a brother. He is expected to be back at work today.

McCallum, recently promoted to No. 1 running back, sat out Sunday’s game after undergoing an emergency appendectomy Saturday in Cincinnati. McCallum was on the sidelines watching practice Wednesday. He is sidelined indefinitely, but Coach Art Shell has not decided if he’ll put McCallum on the injured-reserve list.

Former Raider running back Bo Jackson, whose football career was ended by a hip injury nearly three years ago, visited practice. He declined to comment to reporters, but was laughing and joking with his former teammates. . . . Willie Gault was excused from practice for personal reasons.
