These Diamonds Are Hotel’s Best Friend
The American Automobile Assn. (AAA) has awarded its 1994 Five Diamonds to six California hotels.
The Peninsula Beverly Hills earned the designation for the first time, joining the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, which has received the award eight years; Fairmont Hotel and Tower, San Francisco, 16 years; Four Seasons Clift Hotel, San Francisco, 10 years; Four Seasons Hotel, Newport Beach, two years, and the Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey, two years.
Other lodgings receiving Five Diamonds for the first time are: the Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta; Grand Wailea Resort Hotel and Spa, Wailea, Hawaii; the Jefferson, Richmond, Va., and the Four Seasons Hotel, Toronto, Ontario.
The newcomers are among 49 lodgings and 21 restaurants in 18 states, Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico that have the Five Diamond designation. No hotels were dropped from the list this year.
