PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS
Television ratings for Sunday’s Ram game on KCBS-TV Channel 2 were the team’s lowest of the season and were less than half that of the game broadcast opposite the Rams on KNBC-TV Channel 4--Denver vs. San Diego.
The Rams’ 38-10 loss to Phoenix received a 6.3 rating, according to figures released Monday by the A.C. Nielsen Co. With each local rating point being equivalent to 50,064 households in the five-county market, which includes Orange County, it means about 315,000 households were tuned in.
By comparison, the Chargers’ 13-10 victory drew a 12.9. The Raiders-Buffalo game, which did not have to compete with another NFL telecast for viewers, had a 17.
The previous low rating for a Ram game this season was a 7.5 for the 30-24 loss to Atlanta carried by KCAL-TV Channel 9 on Thursday, Oct. 14.
