SAN CLEMENTE : Residents Urged to Hang Holiday Lights
In an effort to build community pride and spirit, the city’s Chamber of Commerce is calling for as many residents as possible to put up holiday lights this season.
“Everyone traveling on the Interstate 5 can see the lights shining from homes near the freeway,” said Sue Monlux, a chamber spokeswoman. “This can bring a very positive light to the city that we really need at this time.”
Friday was the deadline for the chamber’s White Light Decorating Contest, but residents who didn’t enter are still encouraged to brighten their homes with holiday lights.
“We hope that if people pull off the freeway to look at the homes, they’ll stay and shop here, too,” Monlux said.
