Los Alamitos : Virginia Wilson to Head School Board
Virginia Wilson has been elected president of the Board of Trustees of the Los Alamitos Unified School District, her fourth term in 17 years as a trustee.
“I’ve enjoyed the work,” said Wilson, 53. “It’s always nice to have the opportunity to serve the community.”
Also at the school board’s reorganization last week, Donna Artukovic was elected clerk.
The school board decided to change its regular meetings from 7:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of each month at the district offices at 10293 Bloomfield Ave.
The next regular meeting will be Jan. 18, although a workshop will be held Friday, starting at 8 a.m.
School district officials said they will be looking at appropriate locations in Seal Beach where board meetings may be conducted to allow students and parents from that community to attend meetings.
The school district, which has a student population of more than 7,000, also serves Los Alamitos and Rossmoor.
