Ventura County Job Market Stays Static

Little change is in store for Ventura County’s job market during the first quarter of 1994, according to the quarterly survey of employers by Manpower Inc.

The report says 13% of the companies surveyed plan to add new workers while 13% expect layoffs. Of the rest, 64% expect no change and 10% are unsure.

Three months ago, 17% of the county’s employers said they would add to their payrolls and 20% planned layoffs. A year ago, 20% predicted increased hiring while 30% expected layoffs.
