LOS ANGELES COUNTY : Sheriff’s Deputy Arrested for Alleged Kidnap, Rape
A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy was arrested Tuesday in connection with the alleged kidnaping and rape of a 20-year-old woman.
Ramon Avalos, 28, was suspended but will continue to receive pay because no formal charges have been filed, according to sheriff’s spokesman Bob Stoneman.
The woman told investigators she was stopped “on a public street by a uniformed deputy sheriff, under the guise of an enforcement stop,” said Los Angeles Police Department spokesman John Dunkin.
She said the deputy took her to a secluded area and raped her, Dunkin said.
