Film distributor 21st Century, headed by former Cannon executive Menachem Golan, has agreed to file for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. The move comes after Hollywood’s talent guilds, which are seeking $1.5 million from the company, filed an involuntary bankruptcy petition against the firm. In addition, the French bank Credit Lyonnais claims it is owed $15 million. Lawyers in the case said Golan has been stripped of power and now has no control over the company’s assets.

Bruce F. Dickson, once a top aide to former Lincoln Savings & Loan operator Charles H. Keating Jr., was sentenced by a federal judge to five years of probation after earlier pleading guilty to one charge of bank fraud. . . . Motorola Inc. said it named Gary Tooker, 54, chief executive to succeed George Fisher, who left the Schaumberg, Ill.-based electronics firm to take the helm at Eastman Kodak Co. Motorola also named Christopher Galvin, 43, president and chief operating officer. . . . Walt Disney Co. reported that video sales of its animated film “Aladdin” have topped $21 million, making it the best-selling video ever. . . .
