PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Slater Is Put on Injured Reserve

Share

As expected, offensive tackle Jackie Slater was put on injured reserve, ending the season for the 18-year veteran who had sat out five games because of a torn chest muscle.

Coach Chuck Knox said center Brad Fichtel was promoted from the practice squad to replace Slater on the roster. Because Slater is on injured reserve, he was not at Friday’s practice, but he will accompany the team to Cincinnati for Sunday’s game.

Knox said Jeff Pahukoa will be the starter at left guard.

Inactive for Sunday’s game because of injuries are wide receiver Ernie Jones, guards Keith Loneker and Tom Newberry, and defensive tackle Jeff Esters.
