Donald Trump, Marla Maples Seal Their Deal With an ‘I Do’
Donald Trump and Marla Maples finally said, “I do.”
The developer and his bride exchanged vows in a brief ceremony Monday night in the grand ballroom of Trump’s Plaza Hotel.
Maples, a model and showgirl, wore a long white off-the-shoulder dress designed by Carolina Herrera and a lace veil.
The hype surrounding the event was trademark Trump: Fancy hotel. Six-foot cake. A bridal diamond tiara supposedly worth $2 million.
Trump briefly met reporters and photographers after the ceremony, which was closed to most of the media.
“Very nice, very nice,” he said in a hoarse voice.
The couple was reportedly going to spend Christmas skiing in Telluride, Colo., but Trump’s publicist, Chen Sam, refused to confirm that.
She said about 1,000 guests turned out for the 15-minute ceremony in a room decorated with white birch and white orchids.
Maples gave birth two months ago to Tiffany Trump. The child is her first and Trump’s fourth. He was divorced in 1990 by his first wife, Ivana.
