San Gabriel : 2 Openings on Commissions
The City Council is accepting applications from San Gabriel residents to fill two seats on city commissions.
Applicants are needed to replace Planning Commissioner David Gutierrez, who has served the maximum three two-year terms, and Civil Service Commissioner Katherine Chakerin, who is moving to New York.
The Planning Commission considers applications for zoning changes and permits, and makes recommendations on land use to the council. Gutierrez’s term ends Jan. 4.
The Civil Service Commission hears employee appeals of disciplinary action and meets when needed. Both commissions consist of volunteers from the community.
Mayor James Castaneda will review the applications and make a recommendation to the full council.
Those interested should contact Tina Miller at City Hall, 532 W. Mission Drive, San Gabriel 91776.
