Mayor’s Capabilities

With regard to your article on the mayor of Santa Paula receiving disability payments: Surely the major concern should not be whether he is capable of serving as mayor while receiving disability payments, but whether he should receive disability payments while serving as mayor--or, for that matter, any activity.

This appears to be another example of our liberal government giving handouts to those willing to feed at the public trough.

Life is full of stress and always has been, but most of us learn to deal with it. Anyone capable of serving as mayor of a city should be capable of paying his own way through life.
