COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Fifth-Ranked Colorado Beats UC Irvine, 75-54

Shelley Sheetz scored 16 points to lead a balanced Colorado attack Thursday night as the fifth-ranked Buffaloes took command early in beating UC Irvine, 75-54, in a women’s basketball game at Irvine.

Cher Scanlon led UC Irvine (1-7) with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Colorado is 10-1.

In the Cal Lutheran men’s basketball tournament:

Cal Lutheran 88, Concordia 70--Cal Lutheran (9-0) scored 55 second half points to break open a one-point game at halftime. Vujadin Jovic had 20 points for Concordia (8-5).

In men’s intercollegiate tennis:

Texas Christian’s Deven Bowen defeated teammate David Roditi, a former San Clemente High player, 6-1, 6-3, in the men’s singles final of the Freedom Bowl Intercollegiate Tennis Classic.

Roditi and Jeff Marsden of Montana lost to Christopher Brown of New Mexico and Rae Cho of UCLA, 6-1, 6-4, in the doubles final.
