LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL
We of the Otavalan community, the Centro Cultural MUYUY and the Community of Quichua Art and Culture (CACUQ) thank writer Jonathan Kandell for his interest and goodwill (“Shuttle Capitalism,” Nov. 14). However, as the inheritants of a historical process of self-determination of our peoples, we find the article limited. For example, take a deeper look at our socioeconomic work and our political work, with our single focus being the struggle for the fundamental rights of all humanity: liberty and self-determination.
We would like the world to know that we are Nations-Cultures that, despite the ethnocidal and genocidal practices used against us, continue to resist. We strongly urge you in the cementing of the bases of a new society, where equality and freedom of all peoples is the rule.
