Notes Sale: Newport Beach’s Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Co. said Tuesday in that it sold $150 million in notes last week. The notes mature on Dec. 30, 2023, and bear interest of 7.9%. Since mutual life insurance companies are not public and cannot offer stock, they raise capital by selling such notes.
