MCA to Increase Responsibilities of Al Teller

Share

MCA Music Entertainment Group Chairman Al Teller will get additional responsibilities with corporate parent MCA Inc., sources close to the company say.

The move is viewed partly as a reward for what is expected to be a record year for the music company in 1993, as well as a reflection of Teller’s increasing role at MCA in areas such as technology.

Sources speculated that there will be an additional title for for Teller--who will continue to oversee music--probably as an MCA executive vice president. Teller is credited with a successful gamble on the surprise career revival of singer Meat Loaf, whose “Bat Out of Hell II” album turned out to be MCA’s biggest seller last year.
