Something to Think About: In “Cradle of Fire,” dancers ages 9 to adult present Bethune Theatredanse’s original dance-theater work telling the story of two teen-agers, one on the mean streets of 1990s L.A. and the other in a 1940s German concentration camp.

Directed and choreographed by Zina Bethune and Carlos Jones, the unusual multimedia presentation combines dance, historical and contemporary music and videography by Michael Masucci.

It will take place at Pepperdine’s Smothers Theatre in Malibu on Jan. 20-21 at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and $18.

Get Slimed: Dodge an avalanche, give yourself a pie facial, play video snowball tag with elves: Moms, dads and kids can test their pie-throwing, slam-dunking, green glop-tossing and other refined skills in the “Nickelodeon Live Tour” coming to the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena on Feb. 13.

The tour, based on such popular Nickelodeon cable shows as “Nick Arcade” and “Nickelodeon Guts,” features nonstop, wacky and frequently slimy competitions, with contestants chosen from the audience. The two shows’ on-air personalities, Mike O’Malley and Phil Moore, host the event.

The extravaganza’s high point is a race to the top of “GUTS Aggro Crag,” an “interactive cliff” that responds to contestants’ efforts with avalanches and snowstorms.

Tickets are $9.50, $12.50 and $17 and are on sale at the Sports Arena box office, or call (213) 480-3232 or (714) 740-2000.
