Listings Agreement: Several regional multiple-listing services for home sales are expected to announce today in Upland that they have agreed to allow free access to each other’s listings and will work to set up a common database system, a spokesman said Wednesday.

As a result of the agreement, more than 27,000 listing service members--the majority of which are real estate brokers and brokerages--will have access to nearly 70,000 listings of homes for sale in an area that includes much of Orange County: Anaheim, Laguna Beach, Santa Ana, Mission Viejo and San Juan Capistrano. While the listing services have not merged, they will share information at no cost.

“This is a good thing for both brokers and home buyers,” said Bill Jones, chairman of the Southland Area Listings Enterprise, the task force formed to develop the expanded access.

The participating listings services are Multi-Regional Multiple Listing Service, which covers the Inland Valley; Orange County Multiple Listing Service; Inland Empire West Assn. of Realtors; Pomona Valley Board of Realtors; and Redland Board of Realtors. Listing services that cover Newport Beach, Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach are not included.
