A 74-year-old Camarillo man who had been missing since Friday was found sitting in his pickup truck in Santa Clarita and has been returned home, the man’s wife reported Monday.

Sam Corsetti was reported missing after he left his Camarillo home about 3:30 p.m. Friday to get gasoline, authorities said. Corsetti is at times forgetful and can be disoriented, authorities said.

Dorothy Corsetti said she received a call from a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy Sunday night, reporting that her husband was healthy and safe at a sheriff’s station in Santa Clarita.

Angeles County authorities became involved when a clerk in a Santa Clarita mini-mall spotted Corsetti sitting in his truck in the parking lot for an unusual length of time.

“I think he just got disoriented,” Dorothy Corsetti said. “He never had any connections in Santa Clarita. He must have gotten on the 126 and kept driving.” A Ventura County sheriff’s deputy confirmed his safe return. “He’s home and happy and healthy,” said Senior Deputy Joe Evans. “He’s a delightful man.”
