Man’s Home Is His Sandcastle: Costa Mesa architects McLarand, Vasquez & Partners have been honored for The Sandcastle, a Newport Beach home chosen as 1993 Home of the Year by the National Assn. of Home Builders.
The trade group cited the home’s strong sense of context, warm and natural materials, openness and practicality. The beachfront home is the personal residence of architect Carl McLarand .
The company received the award last weekend in Las Vegas at the trade group’s annual convention.
