Next Intel Chip to Arrive in 1995: The company is again speeding up the frenetic pace of change in the personal computer industry. Intel Corp. Chief Executive Andrew S. Grove said in a speech to financial analysts that the company will demonstrate its next-generation microchip, known internally as P6, this time next year. The announcement has little effect on current computer buyers, but it is important to the strategies of PC makers and software writers. Intel microprocessors are the “brain” in four out of five PCs. Intel is just hitting full production of the state-of-the-art Pentium chip.
