SANTA ANA — The California Arts Council on Thursday granted East Indian dancer Ramya Harishankar of Irvine a spot on its Touring Artists Directory for 1995-97. Those who present artists on the roster are eligible for partial fee subsidies from the CAC.
The council, meeting at the Bowers Museum, also announced that it will extend by two weeks Tuesday’s deadline for certain grant applicants in Los Angeles County affected by the Northridge earthquake. The extension applies to educational, service and multidisciplinary performing-presenting and visual arts organizations.
Touring troupes listed on the council’s current Touring Artists Directory that had to reschedule performances because of the earthquake will be covered under their existing contracts, as will any artists-in-residence forced to postpone their presentations, the council announced.
