Ventura County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 26-year-old man described as a supplier to street-level drug dealers in the Thousand Oaks area, authorities said Friday.

Thousand Oaks resident Marco Marangoni, 26, was taken into custody Thursday night after two men from North Hollywood delivered a package containing 2.2 pounds of cocaine, said Sgt. Gary Pentis, who runs the narcotics unit at the East Valley Sheriff’s Station.

About 30 minutes after the cocaine was dropped off, Marangoni emerged from his apartment and was arrested, authorities said. The two men accused of delivering the cocaine, Alfonso Reyes, 21, and Vincent Lizaar, 20, were arrested shortly after leaving Marangoni’s apartment complex near the intersection of Hampshire and Triunfo Canyon roads.

All three were booked into Ventura County Jail on suspicion of possessing cocaine for sale and criminal conspiracy. Marangoni and Reyes were both being held Friday night in lieu of $20,000 bail. Lizaar was released Friday morning.

Inside Marangoni’s apartment, narcotics detectives found a loaded, 12-gauge shotgun and a small amount of marijuana, authorities said. They also found some additional cocaine in the rental car driven by Lizaar and Reyes, authorities said.

Pentis said more arrests are possible.
