Titans Can’t Catch Stanford With Late Rally
Stanford built a 7-3 lead and then survived a Fullerton rally in the top of the ninth for a 7-6 college baseball victory Saturday at Stanford.
Jeff Ferguson hit a two-out, three-run homer to rally the Titans within one, but they were unable to score the tying run.
Craig Skyberg was two for four and scored two runs for the Titans (1-1), and Jim Betzsold and Bret Hemphill each hit home runs. Chad Rolish took the loss.
