News, Tips & Bargains : Getting Money in Minutes When Traveling in Mexico
- Share via
Western Union Financial Services has introduced a new money transfer service to Mexico, called Dinero en Minutos (Money in Minutes).
With Dinero en Minutos, money can be sent from any of the 18,000 Western Union agent locations in the United States to travelers in Mexico who can pick up the cash in pesos at any of the nearly 300 Elektra S.A. de C.V. stores. Elektra is a furniture and electronics retail chain that is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. Western Union expects to have 500 payout locations by year’s end.
Transfers can be completed in minutes. The service replaces Western Union’s two-day transfer service in which funds were paid out at post offices.
Western Union has more than 23,000 money transfer locations worldwide and also offers transfers in minutes between the U.S. and Canada, Europe, Asia, Central and South America and the Caribbean, and two-day service to 16 countries in Africa.
