About 600 football fans from Mexico were cheated out of about $500,000 in a phony Super Bowl ticket scam. About 80 police from College Park, Ga., were called to a hotel ballroom Saturday night, where angry fans had created a disturbance after learning that they had no Super Bowl tickets. The fans had bought a travel package that was to include air travel, lodging and tickets. The fans didn’t buy the theory that two out of three ain’t bad. After police escorted the Atlanta travel representative, who police say was also a victim of the scam, out of the building, the crowd quieted.
