Rain Brings Food to Trout, Trout to Anglers at Irvine

Last week’s rain is being credited with triggering a steady bite of rainbow and German brown trout at Irvine Lake.

Officials there said runoff from the rain carried worms, so those using nightcrawlers and red worms had little trouble catching their five-fish limits. The largest fish of the week, a 7 1/2-pound rainbow trout, was caught by Craig Schlisct of Glendora.
