JERUSALEM —
The man who trained TV’s Flipper the dolphin collapsed and was rushed to a hospital Wednesday, the seventh day of his fast against the planned transfer of three dolphins to an Israeli amusement park.
U.S. dolphin expert Richard O’Barry collapsed at a Tel Aviv tent site, where he started his hunger strike, said Etty Altman, a spokeswoman for a local animal rights group backing his campaign.
He was taken to Tel Aviv’s Ichilov Hospital, she said. His condition was not immediately known.
