SANTA PAULA : Shots Hit Window at Police Station
Someone fired two shots at the front of the Santa Paula Police Station early Thursday, shattering a window pane and startling a dispatcher, authorities said.
Dispatcher Carla Samples was working near the front of the station when she heard two gunshots followed by the sound of glass breaking, Cmdr. Mark Hanson said.
Patrol cars summoned by Samples stopped one car leaving the area, but the occupants were not involved, Hanson said.
Police have no suspects, but Hanson said that “drive-by shootings are, generally speaking, gang-related. We’ve been leaning on a lot of people lately as part of our active look at the gang situation.”
