Larmer gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead at 17:38 of the first period when he jammed Sergei Nemchinov’s rebound under goaltender Vincent Riendeau’s pads for his 12th goal of the season.

San Jose 3, Philadelphia 2--Sergei Makarov scored with 1:47 to play in overtime to lift the Sharks at Philadelphia.

Igor Larionov broke down the ice on the game-winning play, found space along the right boards and spotted Makarov streaking down the left side. He sent the puck across the slot and Makarov scored his 14th goal of the season.

Philadelphia is winless in its last five (0-4-1) and dropped below .500 for the first time this season (24-25-3). The slumping Flyers’ last victory came on Jan. 19.

Quebec 4, St. Louis 3--Iain Fraser’s breakaway goal broke a third-period tie at St. Louis, leading the Nordiques. The Blues lost for the first time since acquiring Steve Duchesne Jan. 23.

Duchesne had an assist for the Blues, giving him three goals and two assists since joining St. Louis after a season-long contract holdout in Quebec.
