FASHION : Behind The Scenes : Hog Wild for Heavy Metal and Leather

Share

A sea of black leather washed over the Newport Beach Country Club last Friday as 1,500 people wore their best biker wear to attend the studded gala “Hog Wild for Hoag Hospital.”

The black-tide event looked like a Harley-Davidson bike rally. Guests were confined in cowhide: motorcycle jackets, chaps, boots and biker caps. Men attached fake ponytails and women wore faux tattoos. K-D sunglasses and skull earrings completed the look for both sexes.

The $200-a-person fund-raiser to benefit Hoag Hospital’s Emergency Care Unit in Newport Beach was held in a massive tent with chain-link fencing dangling from the ceiling and neon signs electrifying Huey Lewis & the News’ performance.
