FREEWAY LEAGUE ROUNDUP : Troy Rallies to Get Past Buena Park

Troy rallied from an 11-point deficit for a 63-51 victory over Buena Park on Friday to remain in sole possession of first place in the Freeway League.

Buena Park took an 11-point lead in the third quarter before the Warriors (16-8, 7-1) came back. Junior James Hampson, who had 19 points, made four three-pointers in the second half and Jeff Sand added 19 points, including two three-pointers, to lead Troy.

Courtney Smith scored 14 points and Ruben Gasso added 13 for Buena Park (3-20, 0-8).

In other league games:

Sonora 51, Fullerton 49--Sergio Hernandez scored 14 points, Chad Fister had 13 and Nathan Mirth added 11, including three three-pointers to lead Sonora (19-5, 6-2), the ninth-ranked team in the county.

Ryan Schatz scored 13 points and Sam Mankiewicz and Matt Sanders each added 12 for Fullerton (12-12, 3-5).

Sunny Hills 55, La Habra 47--Ben Nicolas scored 16 points and Mike SooHoo added 15 points for host Sunny Hills (10-14, 4-4).
