Four men were stabbed on Cooper Road at McKinley Avenue in the east Oxnard neighborhood of La Colonia Monday evening in what police said was an apparent robbery.

The four Spanish-speaking victims appeared to be laborers and not associated with any gang, said Oxnard Police Sgt. Tim Combs.

All of the stabbing victims were hospitalized, and two were reported in serious condition.

Two of the victims were rushed to Ventura County Medical Center, where a nursing supervisor said one was in guarded condition and the other in serious condition.

A 23-year-old man taken to Pleasant Valley Hospital was reported in stable condition with three stab wounds but no major loss of blood.

The fourth victim was transported to St. John’s Regional Medical Center and underwent surgery for abdominal wounds. A nursing supervisor said his condition was serious.

The stabbings were reported to police around 7:30 p.m., but no suspects were immediately identified. An investigation is continuing, Combs said.
