COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : King, Jackson Return to Lead Michigan Rout

With Jimmy King and Ray Jackson back in the Michigan lineup from one-game suspensions and Chris Webber rooting from the end of the bench, 11th-ranked Michigan defeated 12th-ranked Indiana, 91-67, on Tuesday night at Ann Arbor, Mich., to take over sole possession of first place in the Big Ten Conference.

King scored 17 points and Jackson 13 for the Wolverines, who never trailed while improving to 16-4 overall and 8-2 in the Big Ten.

Jalen Rose scored 20 points for Michigan and Juwan Howard scored 19.

Alan Henderson scored 18 points for Indiana (14-5, 7-3) and Damon Bailey scored 17.

No. 2 Duke 66, Georgia Tech 63--Marty Clark and Eric Meek came off the bench to help the Blue Devils (17-2, 8-2) rally from a 12-point deficit to defeat the Yellow Jackets (12-9, 3-7) in an Atlantic Coast Conference game at Atlanta.

The Blue Devils used a 26-6 run over an eight-minute span to take a 46-38 lead with 14:42 to play. Meek and Grant Hill each scored eight points and Clark seven during the burst.

Clark finished with a season-high 17 points and Meek had a season-high 10 points and 10 rebounds, including six on the offensive end. Hill added 13 points and Cherokee Parks 12.

West Virginia 78, No. 8 Temple 71--Pervires Greene scored six of his 27 points in overtime to lead the Mountaineers (14-5, 7-3) over the Owls (16-3, 9-2) in an Atlantic 10 Conference game at Morgantown, W.Va.

West Virginia, which ended Temple’s 10-game losing streak, overcame a 13-point deficit in the final eight minutes of regulation.
