Santa Ana Man Shot After Traffic Accident Dies; Police Seek Suspect
A man shot Jan. 22 after a minor traffic accident in front of his house died Wednesday of his wounds, police said.
Jesus Isidoro, 41, died at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana as a result of bullet wounds to his shoulder and chest, according to Lt. Robert Helton.
Isidoro was a passenger in a car that collided with a parked vehicle in front of his house in the 2000 block of South Towner Street. The parked vehicle was owned by Juan Ruiz, 30, of Santa Ana. Ruiz told police he thought the car Isidoro was riding in was a hit-and-run, and he fired one round at the vehicle with a semiautomatic pistol.
Ruiz was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and released on bail, Helton said. Investigators are now looking for him for questioning, and the matter will be submitted to the Orange County district attorney’s office.
