Service for Slain Police Officers Set for Monday
A memorial service for Palos Verdes Estates Police Capt. Mike Tracy and Sgt. Vernon Thomas Vanderpool has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Rolling Hills Covenant Church, 2222 Palos Verdes Drive North, Rolling Hills Estates.
Both officers were killed Monday when a masked gunman opened fire in a conference room at a Torrance hotel during a police training session.
The funeral procession will go to Green Hills Cemetery, 27501 S. Western Ave., Rancho Palos Verdes. Burial will be private.
Contributions to the officers’ families may be made to the Palos Verdes Police Officers Assn., Mike Tracy/Tom Vanderpool Memorial Fund, Palos Verdes Estates Police Department, 340 Palos Verdes Drive West, Palos Verdes Estates, 90274.
