Raiders and Coliseum
* The taxpayers of Los Angeles and the Coliseum Commission would do well to heed Bill Boyarsky’s warning about getting flimflammed (again) by Raiders owner Al Davis (Feb. 2).
Anyone wishing to ascertain the level of Davis’ corporate citizenship should take a drive past the Raiders headquarters, a leased junior high school in El Segundo.
Once a neatly manicured and carefully maintained source of pride within the community, this facility has been allowed to become a rundown, weed-choked embarrassment. Attempts to shame Davis and the Raiders into cleaning up their space have been met with thunderous silence and total inaction.
Clearly this guy has just about worn out his welcome in Southern California. So, Al, go ahead--pack up your attitude and your arrogance and take them to Hartford, or Hoboken or wherever.
