Steve Moore was named Ram wide receivers coach Wednesday, and offensive assistant Mike Martz was promoted to quarterbacks coach.

Moore, out of coaching since 1989, replaces Milt Jackson, who left earlier this month to become Atlanta’s receivers coach.

Moore, 46, was Seattle’s offensive coordinator from 1986-88 under Coach Chuck Knox. He held a variety of assistant coaching positions in 11 seasons on Knox’s staffs in Seattle and Buffalo.

Martz, who coached the Ram tight ends last season, replaces Ted Tollner, who left after the season to become San Diego State’s head coach. The Rams have yet to hire a special teams coach to replace Howard Tippett.

Martz, 43, joined the Ram staff as an offensive assistant in 1992 after 14 seasons coaching at the college level. He was the quarterbacks coach from 1983-87 at Arizona State.
