Share

Sheriff’s deputies late Sunday were investigating two armed robberies that occurred half an hour apart at a liquor store and convenience market in the Montalvo and Saticoy areas.

The first occurred at 6:30 p.m. at Log Cabin Liquor on Alameda Avenue in Montalvo. The second happened at 6:55 p.m. at Le Town market on Azahar Street in Saticoy.

In both robberies, two suspects entered the store brandishing handguns. The owner or employees were then ordered to lie on the floor while one of the suspects scooped money from the till. During the second robbery, the suspects spoke Spanish.

Sheriff’s Lt. Gary Backman said everything about the two robberies appeared similar except for the description of the suspects’ ethnicity. The victims of the first robbery described the robbers as white males in their teens. In the second robbery, the suspects were said to be Latino males in their late teens.
