Whittle Plans Doctor TV Channel: Whittle Communications plans this fall to launch a satellite-delivered interactive TV channel for doctors and expects the service to become its biggest revenue generator. The Knoxville, Tenn.-based media company said it plans to spend $200 million over the next 2 1/2 years to install equipment needed to deliver the service, called Medical News Network, to 50,000 physicians across the country. The company already operates the Channel One news show seen in about 12,000 grammar and high schools and the Special Report TV and magazine project available in about 30,000 medical waiting rooms.
