Share

Animal shelters are filled to capacity with hundreds of pets lost or left homeless following the January earthquake. So the California State Humane Officers and the American Cat Assn. will combine efforts to offer cat adoptions in conjunction with the Championship Cat Show this weekend at the LAX Hilton. Admission to the “Animal Rescue and Orphan Adoption & Championship Cat Competition” Saturday and Sunday will help pay for the upkeep of homeless or injured pets. The competition will feature hundreds of cats and kittens, from Siamese to Scottish Folds, competing for the top cat title. There is also a division for household cats. The show takes place at the Airport Hilton, 5711 W. Century Blvd., Los Angeles. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Donation $5; $4 children. For information, call (818) 780-0001.
