Outlook: Washington (17-3, 0.41 ERA) is a year older, but the infield behind her is new, with exception of Spelber (.292, 11 RBIs). Johnsen (.492, 19 RBIs, 53 stolen bases) is a Times All-County pick and Fastpitch World Magazine All-American who needs 21 stolen bases to set the Section career record. The Warriors continue to have strong team speed, defense and pitching, but would be improved if a clutch RBI hitter developed. One person who might fill that role is Byrd (.260, eight RBIs), an all-league second-teamer.
