Free income-tax assistance is available in Long Beach and several Southeast cities for low-income taxpayers, senior citizens, the disabled and non-English-speaking residents.

The assistance will be provided by volunteers trained by the Internal Revenue Service and the California Franchise Tax Board. Most of the sites will remain open until April 15.

Residents should bring current tax records and last year’s tax returns. A Spanish version of Form 1040A and instructions will be available at all sites. Volunteers from many sites may go to residences of shut-ins to provide tax assistance.
