Neely scored his league-leading 49th and 50th goals in only his 44th game of the season as the Bruins extended their unbeaten streak to seven games at 6-0-1.

Wayne Gretzky scored 50 goals in 39 games during the 1981-82 season and 42 games in 1983-84. Lemieux reached 50 in 44 games during the 1988-89 season.
