POLICE BLOTTER : Around the Valley . . .

ARCADIA: Two men who allegedly robbed an Arcadia bank Thursday morning led police on a 100-m.p.h. chase down the Harbor Freeway before their car careened into a fire hydrant in South-Central Los Angeles, police said. The armed robbers fled the Bank of America, 165 E. Foothill Blvd. at 9:50 a.m. in a van. After crashing the van, they took a car and were pursued by police until they left the freeway at Exposition Boulevard and crashed. Arrested were Teron Jackson, 22, of Apple Valley and Kevin Lee, 24, a transient.

AZUSA: A robber fled Patty’s Market on Sunday night clutching the cash register under his arm. At 7:42 p.m., an armed man entered the store at 458 N. Virginia Ave. and demanded money, police said. After the clerk refused to open the register, the man tried to open it, then grabbed the register and fled. The register contained $48 in cash and food stamps, police said. No arrests have been made.

AZUSA: A woman was sexually assaulted at 7:30 p.m. Monday and her car taken as she waited by a pay phone at Jomar Liquor, 484 S. Citrus Ave., police said. A gunman forced her to drive to the 800 block of East Essex Street in Glendora, where she was sexually assaulted and robbed. No arrests were made.

INDUSTRY: A 300-gallon ink spill closed the freeway interchange from the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway to the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway for about six hours Thursday after six drums of ink fell from a semi-flatbed truck. The truck was carrying newspaper ink from Flint Ink Corporation’s Industry office at 9 a.m. when it lost part of its load, said a California Highway Patrol spokesman. No injuries were reported, and the nontoxic ink was cleaned up by about 3 p.m.

GLENDORA: Three men were arrested March 2 in an undercover sting operation aimed at an auto insurance fraud ring, police said. An informant told police that a man named “Jorge” promised him thousands of dollars to help stage an automobile accident. Officers arrested Jorge Ricardo, 42, of Artesia and Juan Carlos Moroni, 41, and Jorge Alberto Diaz, 38, both of Brea. More arrests are expected.

HACIENDA HEIGHTS: Sheriff’s detectives are continuing the search for Ana Christina Fernandez, 48, missing for more than a month. Fernandez was last seen in her home at 1401 Folkstone Ave. on Jan. 29. Anyone with information is asked to call 213-890-5500.

MONTEREY PARK: Three restaurant employees, including two honor students at Alhambra High School, were wounded after one of two robbers opened fire at 9:20 p.m. Friday in Paul’s Kitchen Restaurant, 1950 S. Atlantic Blvd. Wounded were Maria Chen and Fan-Yee (Fannie) Yu, both 17, and Dina Ishikawa, 19. Chen is senior class president at Alhambra High.

TEMPLE CITY: A raid at 11 a.m. Tuesday on a methamphetamine lab in the 4900 block of Baldwin Avenue at 11 a.m. Tuesday resulted in the arrest of Kirk Johnson, 31, of Temple City.
