SIMI VALLEY : Applications Sought for Arts Commission
Simi Valley officials are looking for residents interested in helping run the city’s new Cultural Arts Center.
A five-member Cultural Arts Center Commission, which will be selected from applications submitted to the City Council, will advise the council on operating the center. Commissioners will be appointed for three- and four-year terms. Appointees will also serve as the center’s Board of Directors. The center is scheduled to open in January in a renovated church on Los Angeles Avenue.
Applicants, who must be at least 18 and live in Simi Valley, should have a strong interest in the arts and be willing to help with programming and fund raising for the center.
Interested residents should call the city manager’s office at 583-6701 for an application. The deadline for submitting applications is 5 p.m. on Friday, March 25.
