Castle Rock/Showtime Deal Reached: Film and television producer Castle Rock extended its premium television agreement with the Viacom-owned cable network through 1999. Under the deal, Showtime will have rights to up to 50 additional Castle Rock feature films. The deal extends a pay television agreement between the two companies that dates to 1989. Castle Rock, which has produced such films as “A Few Good Men” and “In the Line of Fire,” as well as the television series “Seinfeld,” was recently acquired by Turner Broadcasting System.
