Civic Volunteer Evelyn Bauman Dies at Age 75

Evelyn Werther Bauman, a 45-year resident of the city and a longtime civic volunteer, died Sunday. She was 75.

Born in Dover, Ohio, Bauman was graduated from Mt. Union College in Alliance, Ohio, and worked as a medical laboratory technician. She was married to her college sweetheart, Don Bauman, for 50 years.

After moving to Fullerton in 1949, Evelyn Bauman became active in various community and cultural activities. She was named Fullerton Woman of the Year in 1966, received the north Orange County YMCA silver medallion for community service, and, in 1993, was named volunteer of the year by Cal State Fullerton.

Services will be Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Fullerton First United Methodist Church, with a reception following at 6:30 p.m. at the Titan Pavilion, Cal State Fullerton.
